Kids Foundation Injury Free Day

Creating Safety Awareness at Varsity Lakes.

Every day 2000 people are injured at work which costs our community $34 billion a year.  Injury Free Day at Varsity Lakes on Friday 30 October will put the spotlight on safety awareness and injury prevention to help lower this alarming statistic.

Injury Free Day is a national safety awareness campaign run by not for profit organisation the Kids Foundation.  Injury Free Day promotes the importance of injury prevention in the school, workplace, home and community.

At Varsity Lakes all community members are encouraged to emphasis the importance of raising safety awareness in the workplace and at home.

Matthew Stevens CEO of Kids Foundation said Injury Free Day was a great way to put safety on the agenda during Safe Work Australia Week.

"Injury Free Day is a great way for businesses to be involved in Safety Week.  Not only does it help to increase safety awareness in the workplace but funds raised from the sale of Injury Free Day Kits help us to deliver quality safety education programs to schools throughout Australia," said Mr Stevens.

Injury Free Day is supported by the highest level of government and Ms Julia Gillard, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education and Workplace Relations is Patron of Injury Free Day 2009.
